Tom Wills writes: I will plan on opening the gate by 1 p.m. and will be at the club so that if any dancers wish to come down early and enjoy our house and grounds they may do so. We can light up the gas grill if they wish to have a picnic before the dance or there are charcoal grills if they bring their own charcoal.  Also, Mike Fulton and I plan on having our boats in the water so that we can take those interested in a ride out for a sail.

Fall 2014 Dance Classes

Appalachian Squares and Circles 
Ages 8-adult: Thursdays 5:45-6:45 pm, 
September 25-October 23. Learn traditional figures and smooth footwork for Appalachian square and circle dances. Learn to move with the music and with everybody in the set. Be prepared for lots of exercise. No partner or experience necessary. Instructor: Susan English 

Dances of the 1950s
Ages 14-adult: Thursdays 7:00-8:00 pm, September 25-October 23.  Learn the basics and some fancy figures for East Coast swing dance. Try the stroll, handjive, twist, and other fun dances of the 1950s. No partner necessary.  Instructors: Susan English and Bill Alkire

Folk Dances of Appalachia 
Ages 8-adult: Thursdays 5:45-6:45 pm, November 6-December 11 (No class Nov. 17). Learn Appalachian folk dances of American, English, and Danish origin. All dances are on the program for the 2015 Mountain Folk Festival (April 10-11) in Berea, Kentucky. No partner or experience necessary. Instructor: Susan English. READ MORE...

Waltz
Ages 14-adult: Thursdays 7:00-8:00 pm, Nov. 6-Dec. 11 (No class Nov 27). Learn steps and figures for traveling, box, and turning waltz. Move safely and confidently across the floor with the music. Enjoy the rewards of maintaining a strong frame and being a desirable partner. Partner required. Instructors: Susan English and Bill Alkire

Madrigal Dancers

The Madrigal Dancers of Wooster, Ohio, invite newcomers to an open meeting and dance workshop on Saturday, August 23, 12-2 pm at Wayne Center for the Arts.
